He was predeceased by: his parents, Deacon Isaac L. Herndon Sr. and Mary Herndon (Thorpe); and his brothers, Isaac L. Herndon Jr. and Toronza Thorpe. He is survived by: his wife Herlanna Herndon (Burrell); his children, Roderick Herndon Jr. (Alicia) of Midlothian, VA., Douglas Herndon of Oxford, Rotisha Herndon of Greensboro, NC and Shae Herndon of Cary, NC; his brothers-in-law, Alfred Burrell (Bonnie) of Waldorf and Scott Burrell of Severn, Maryland; his grandchildren, Quan Darrius Wilkins, Jasmine Herndon of Greensboro, NC and Caleb Herndon of Midlothian, VA.; and his mother-in-law Sylvia Burrell Tilghman of Columbia. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
