It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Zeke Burgess of Peachland, North Carolina, who passed away on October 8, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Zaphia Cletius Burgess, Sr. and Susie Brooks Burgess Mills; his wife Libby Burgess; his sons, Randy, Scotty and Stacey Burgess; and his siblings, Bobby Burgess and Brenda Mills Holmes.
He is survived by: his sons, Wayne Burgess, Jerry Burgess (Angela) and Terry Burgess (Ginger); his grandchildren, Joy Bliss (Bronson), Jonathan Burgess (Duffi), Glenn Burgess (Brandy), Cheryl Batykefer (John), Crystal Cooke (Rick), Jessica Burgess, Todd Burgess (Jennifer) and Randy Burgess (Jess); and his brother Ted Mills (Debbie). He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church (2476 Upper White Store Rd, Peachland, NC 28133). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 1:45 PM at the Horne Family Cemetery (3147 Upper White Store Rd, Peachland, NC 28133). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church (2476 Upper White Store Rd, Peachland, NC 28133).
