She was predeceased by: her parents, Giles Crumpton (Doc) and Dorothy Thompson Crumpton; and her husband Calvin Shumate (Buddy). She is survived by: her sons, Don Shumate (Teresa) of Winston-Salem, NC and Mike Shumate; her granddaughters, Lindsay Shumate and Kylie Shumate; and her siblings, Barry (Bud), David Crumpton (Susan) of Blanch, NC and Nancy Gilliam (Larry) of New Bern, NC..
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Bethel United Methodist Church (6258 Park Springs Rd, Pelham, NC 27311).
