He was predeceased by: his parents, Opal Greek and Ella Vergie Whittington Halsey; and his wife Judy Burcham Halsey. He is survived by: his daughters, Cheryl Billings and Karen Tharington (Keith); his granddaughters, Jennifer Freeman and Donna Vernon; and his great grandchildren, Logan Freeman and Cole Cooke. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
