He is survived by : his children, Larry Ray Asby, Jr., John Lynn Asby, Sr., Michael Jean Asby, Ranee Ann Fitchett and June Danielle Foster; his siblings, John B. Asby Jr., Shelia Asby Paul and June Asby Stell; his grandchildren, John Lynn Asby Jr., Cody Asby, Shane Asby, Destiny Barrow, Jessica Foster, Hali Asby and Joy Fitchett; and his great grandchildren, Emilyn Asby, Noah Asby and Ryder Asby.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 24th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service (4500 US-264, Washington, NC 27889). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 25th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Pamlico Memorial Gardens (161 Avon Ave, Washington, NC 27889).
