He was predeceased by : his parents, Hovis Edgar Spurrier and Doris Ilene Hendrix Haymore. He is survived by : his wife Melva Kay Tucker Spurrier; his children, Nichole Spurrier Blanton and Tucker Douglas; his daughter-in-law Bambi Shelton Spurrier; his grandchildren, Kylee Booker and Tanzy Ray Spurrier; his sister Joni; his brother-in-law Frankie Messer; his brother Danny; and his sister-in-law Sandy Spurrier. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Judes Children Research Hospital or to the Shoals Elementary Backpack Program.
