He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Ralph Custer and Helen Custer; his former life partners, Jean Ann Schlosser of Garden City, NY and Pat Barber Custer; his daughter Lyla; his former life partner George Chescheir (Chip); his brother Robert Custer (Gerry Custer); his sons, David and Jonathon Custer; his brother James Custer; his wife Phyllis; his sons, Corkey, William, Tom, Jeff and Mike; his brother-in-law William Schlosser; and his children, Brooke, Caitlin and Brett.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Custer asked that those who wished to do so could make a donation to the organization of their choice that promotes access to resources and equity, such as Special Olympics, food banks, court mediation services.
