He was predeceased by : his parents, Paul Alton and Frances Harrell Tarkington; and his siblings, Marshia Stevenson, Pat Williams, James Alton and Donnie Frank Tarkington.

He is survived by : his sisters, Bettie Forbes of Sanford, Vickie Ange of Plymouth, Lena Davenport of Plymouth and Norma Phillips of Roper. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
