He was predeceased by : his father Ernest Braswell Thomas; and his siblings, Charles Peter Thomas and Frances Thomas Swearingen. He is survived by : his mother Dorothy Gainey Thomas Locklear of Norwood; his daughter Tracy Lynn Caldwell (Jeff) of Charlotte; his grandson Alex Caldwell of Charlotte; and his siblings, Isaac "Ike" Thomas of Polkton, Roy Thomas of Norwood, Phyllis Broadaway (Wade) of Midland, Dorothy "Punk" Davis of Norwood, Paula Taylor of Norwood and Sue Totten (Steve) of Norwood. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
