She was predeceased by : her parents, Norman Edgar Pennell and Martha Anderson Pennell; her husbands, Bobby Braswell and David Bartlett; her son Ricky Braswell (Edward Braswell); her siblings, Troy Pennell, Berlon Pennell, Floyd Pennell, Valley Jones, Flora Stewart and Estelle Pearce; and her granddaughter Jennifer Crawford.

She is survived by : her children, Kenneth Braswell (Norma) of Four Oaks and Sheila Parrish (Jeff) of Princeton; her sisters, Alberta Little of Conover, Naomi Woodard of Roanoke Rapids and Geraldine Strickland of Kenly; her daughter-in-law Ellen Grice; her grandchildren, Chris Braswell, Josh Bragg, Bryan Smith, Chad Braswell, Crystal Norton, Nicole Wiler and Pam Berry; and her great grandchildren, Brett Braswell, Brooke Braswell, Rebecca Crawford, Lydia Wiler, Gracie Wiler, Megan Wiler, Samuel Berry, Matthew Berry and Jordan Bragg.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Parrish Funeral Home (1351 S Pollock St, Selma, NC 27576). A burial was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
