Leora left this world on October 13, 2025 at the age of 81, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Grover Johnson and Ora Garner Johnson; her husband George David "Dave" Bizzell; her siblings, Margie Lee Kornegay, Velma Ann Trexler and Grover Edward Johnson; and her brother-in-law Larry Rhodes.
She is survived by: her children, Jim Gillikin (Trish), Pam Burnett (Neil) and David Bizzell (Adrienne); her grandchildren, Jamie Cooper (Ashley), Jessica Nietschmann (Adam), Kelly Lancaster (Justin), Danielle Kennedy (Joseph), Joshua Gandy (Valerie) and Devin Elliott; her sisters, Jean Bryant (Jimmy) and Betty Rhodes; and her close friend Peggy Ballance. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 188 Whitley Church Rd, Princeton, NC 27569. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery (164 Longs Plant Farm Rd, Goldsboro, NC 27534).
