He was predeceased by : his parents, Anthony Smith and Mamie Smith; and his siblings, Linda Smith, Marion Smith and Richard Smith.
He is survived by : his wife Linda Sumpter Smith of Fayetteville, NC; his children, Stephanie Smith of Fayetteville, NC, Angela Smith of Fayetteville, NC and Jessie Smith Jr. of Greenville, NC; his grandson Jaylin Womack of Fayetteville, NC; and his siblings, Nathaniel Smith of Columbia, SC, Andrew Smith of Bruce Mississippi and Earlean Atkins of Uniondale. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and precious friends.
