She was predeceased by : her parents, Reginald A. Palmer and Dorothy Loomis Palmer; and her husband Arnold N Showers. She is survived by : her children, Brenda Kay Tyson (John), Janet Ottariano (Camillo), Chad Matthew Showers (Judy) and Ronald Mark Showers (Sue). She is also survived by ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, May 26th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor (834 N Main St, Creedmoor, NC 27522). A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 26th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, May 26th 2024 at the Carolina Memorial Gardens (102 Moss Rd, Creedmoor, NC 27522).
