She was predeceased by : her parents, Munza Barbour Hayes and Paul Hayes; and her brother Jerry G. Hayes. She is survived by : her daughter Tonya Zucker (David); her grandchildren, Ashley Zucker and Michael Zucker; and her brother Sherwood Hayes (Shirley).

A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Raleigh Memorial Park (7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612).
