It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cecil H. Marcellus III of Reidsville, North Carolina, who passed away on May 30, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Cecil has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Cecil H. Marcellus Jr. and Josephine Tipton Marcellus; and his sister Judith Marcellus Dixon. He is survived by: his wife Betty P. Marcellus; his children, Samantheo P. Marcellus and Justin Patrick Marcellus; and his siblings, Clarence A. L. Marcellus (Johnetta), Marcus A. Marcellus and Nettie V. Smith James (Albert). He is also survived by relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McLaurin-Harris Memorial Chapel (721 E Morehead St, Reidsville, NC 27320). A wake was held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul United Methodist Church (1004 W Harrison St, Reidsville, NC 27320).
