He was predeceased by: his parents, Zollie Worth and Mary Elizabeth Bishop Carter; his wife Doris Gray Carter; and his son Charles W. Carter, II. He is survived by: his children, Trudy Currin of Roanoke Rapids, Debra Edwards of Roanoke Rapids, Sue Carter of Roanoke Rapids, Denise Carter of Yorktown, VA, Dennis Carter (Juanita Morgan) of Roanoke Rapids and Rusty Lee Carter (Terry) of Chesapeake, VA.. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
