It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean Gaither Wells of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, who passed away on October 27, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Russell Gaither and Margaret Alma Aycock Gaither; her husband Thomas Levelle Wells; her daughter Elizabeth "Libby" Jean Wells; her granddaughter Christina Marie Wells; and her brother William "Bill" Gaither (Elsie).
She is survived by: her daughters, Sharon Wells, Deborah Morgan (Osbond L. "Ozzie") and Morgan, Jr. of Roanoke Rapids; her grandchildren, Leslie Newsome (Jonathan) of Roanoke Rapids, Michael Morgan (Ashley) of Roanoke Rapids, Tommy O'Neal of Roanoke Rapids, Rebecca of Roanoke Rapids and Johnathan O'Neal (Janet) of Florida; her great grandchildren, Kenley Carter of Roanoke Rapids, Kayla Carter of Roanoke Rapids, Kolton Newsome of Roanoke Rapids, Lincoln O'Neal of Roanoke Rapids, Calum Morgan of Roanoke Rapids and Elizabeth O'Neal of Florida; and her siblings, David Gaither of Roanoke Rapids and Ellen Draper (Julian) of Newport News, VA..
A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bear Swamp Baptist Church (16670 NC-48, Littleton, NC 27850).
