He was predeceased by: his parents, MaCollie Johnson-Newsome and Emma Johnson-Newsome; and his sister Margaret Purnell. He is survived by: his children, Semiko Jacobs (Patrick) of Garysburg, NC, Brittan, Wake Forest, Ashley Newsome and Jacque Cumbo of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Jerome, Aniya, Antwane, Dontae and Sereniti; his fiancée Brenda D. Garris-Johnson; and his sisters, Geneva Joyner of Jackson, NC, Gladys Mallory of Statesville, NC, Geraldine Williams, Rosa Newsome, Margaretsville, Dorothy Edward (Percy) of Conway, NC, Geneva Newsome and Door. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, former co-workers and friends.
