It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Josephine Batts Myrick (Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina), who passed away on December 31, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Benjamin Batts and Naomi Flowers Batts; and her former husband James Oliver Myrick. She is survived by: her husband Johnnie Strickland; her sister-in-law Yvonne Elias (Grady) of Roanoke Rapids; her siblings, Marion Tompkins (Doug) of California and C. Nathaniel "Whitey" Batts of Rocky Mount; and her niece Frances F. Brewer. She is also survived by other nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews.
