She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Roosevelt Carden and Hosia Lewis Carden; her husband Joseph Arnold Bryant; and her sister Bevie Carden Nash. She is survived by: her daughters, BJ Bryant and Darla Bryant Wilverding (Thomas); her sister Velma Carden Barbee; and her granddaughter Lauren Elizabeth Wilverding. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Guess Road Baptist Church, 3102 Guess Rd, Durham, NC 27705.
