She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde H. Woodruff and Lucille Hargrave Woodruff; her husband Elmer L. Merritt; and her siblings, Thurman Woodruff Sr. and Sue Woodruff Davis.
She is survived by: her children, Samuel T. "Dickie" Jordan of Roanoke Rapids and Helen Jordan Draper of Ahoskie; her stepchildren, Lawrence W. Merritt (Linda) of Clearwater Fla, Daniel S. "Steve" Merritt (Frances) of Roanoke Rapids and Linda C. Hopkins (Ronnie) of Elizabeth City; and her siblings, Lynn, Glenn Woodruff of Roanoke Rapids and Jean Hargrove of Newport News, Virginia. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
