He was predeceased by: his parents, Etta Smith Stansbury and James Lee Stansbury; his wife Lois Dean Keeter Stansbury; his siblings, Willis, Horace, Alvin Stansbury, Mae Lynch, Bell Gray, Polly Wilson, Mary Rue Bell and Bessie Bennett; and his parents-in-law, William and Lucille Keeter.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kimberly Graybeal (Frank) of Littleton and Kristi Wheeler (Anthony) of Roanoke Rapids; his grandchildren, Nicholas Hite of Roanoke Rapids, Neal Hite of Littleton, Kevin Wheeler and Kendall Wheeler of Roanoke Rapids; his great grandchildren, J. T. Mckenzie and Lily Hite of Roanoke Rapids; and his sister Katherine S. Faison of Roanoke Rapids. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
