He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Benton Edwards, Sr. and Hattie May Borrell Edwards. He is survived by: his siblings, Marjorie Hicks, Irma Molloy, Tina Griffin and J. D. Ross; his wife Merlene Carpenter Edwards; his children, Renee Edwards Spence (Ronald) of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Benton Edwards (Valerie) of Wilson, NC; his grandchildren, Randall Spence, Riley Spence (Robyn) and Sam Edwards; and his great grandchild Rayne Spence.
