He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Hinton and Eunice Evelyn Grizzard Edwards; his children, Connie Bryant and Wallace Wayne Edwards; and his grandson James Wallace Bryant.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Frances Spence Edwards; his children, Jane Butler (Frankie) of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Ray Edwards (Kim) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and his sisters, Shirley Powell of Emporia, VA and Lois Gaskins of Dolphin, VA. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, his twelve great-grandchildren and his three great-great grandchildren.
