He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jessie Hawkins and Sallie Ann Hawkins Hawkins; his son Ray Charles Hawkins; his siblings, Merlin, Edward Lewis and Bertha Mae; his wife Frances Elaine Daniel Hawkins; his children, Kelvin Ray "Red" Daniel (Vanessa), Odester Hawkins and Koretha Abdou-Saley; his adoptive son Reginald Webb (Linda Jean); his grandchildren, Kevin Ingram, Preston Richardson (Raqueta), Antonio Richardson, Elijah Molden and Shakira Whitaker; his great grandchild Jeremiah Winstead; his siblings, Michael Hawkins, Sr., Maxine Hawkins-Jones (Kenneth Jerald) and Linda B. Hawkins-Watson (David); his aunts and uncles, Arbor Hawkins, Herbert Hawkins, Mattie H. Brown, Ophelia H. Brown and Rachel H. Wills; and his siblings-in-law, Ervin Daniel, Shirley Jones, Zenora Matthews (Joseph), Connie J. Hawkins and Shirley Hawkins. He was also cherished by nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
