He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Thomas Hale and Mae Hampton McKnight; his wife Martha; his daughter Regina Johnson; his son-in-law Chuck of Woodstock, Georgia; his son Tom McKnight, Jr.; and his daughter-in-law Vita of Crozet, Virginia. He was also cherished by six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren.
