He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Parker and Easter Anthony Burchette; his wife Ellen Sparks Burchette; and his siblings, Betty Joe Moore, Ruth Haynes, Vena Childress, J. P. Burchette and Claude Burchette.
He is survived by : his daughter Linda Luffman (Dwayne) of Roaring River; his grandsons, Bobby John Luffman (Michelle) and Trey Greene (Scarlett); and his sisters, Sue Forester (Len) of North Wilkesboro, Idesta Shumate (Jimmy) of North Wilkesboro and Maggie Moore (Len) of Wilkesboro.
