It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Cornelia Simpson (Rockingham, North Carolina), who passed away on April 25, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, D. C. Mitchum and Edna Watts Mitchum; her grandparents, Rev. Ed and Rose Watts; her children, Myra Simpson, George Wilburn Simpson (Haven) of Mt. Gilead and Barbara Simpson Robson (Donnie Robson) of Ellerbe; her grandchildren, Jonathan Aaron Turner, Jessica Hope Simpson and Joshua Wilburn Simpson; her great grandchild Holly Faye Simpson; and her sister Rachel Snead of Charlotte.
Due to restrictions relative to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will have a private graveside service Tuesday where she will be laid to rest with other family members at Eastside Cemetery.
