She was predeceased by: her parents, Garland Gibson and Rena Hester Gibson; and her husband Milton Ray Smith. She is survived by: her children, Lawanda Smith Walker (W. G.), Milton Ray Smith, Jr. (Ruthie) and Sharon Smith Riggan; her grandchildren, Brian Walker (Mandy), Jennifer Lambeth (Jamie), Corey Smith, Erskine Brooks (Brooke) and Nicole Goins (Will); and her great grandchildren, Katelyn Walker, Matthew Walker, Carley Lambeth, Walker Lambeth, McKenna Brooks, Camden Brooks, Kylee Goins and Kolton Goins.
Mrs. Smith will lie in state from 3:30- 5:00 pm Sunday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with attendance limits in accordance with COVID restrictions.
