He is survived by: his father Samuel Mark Benfield (Sandy); his wife Katja Kurth Benfield; his children, Neriah Benfield and Elisabeth Benfield; and his siblings, Georgia Gillis-Van Buren and Kent Gillis (Kelli). He is also survived by many other relatives and close friends.
