He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel Madison Meggs and Libbie Clay Meggs. He is survived by: his children, Tina Faircloth of Rockingham, Joey Meggs of Rockingham and Anna Cloninger (Billy) of Ellerbe; his grandchildren, Alaini Faircloth, Nathan and Noah Cloninger; his sister Dianne McAuley of Ellerbe; and also Rev. Doug Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Cordova Baptist Church, P.O. Box 160, Cordova, NC 28330.
