He was predeceased by: his parents, Conrad Alexander Gilland and Edna Bradshaw Gilland; and his brother Bill Gilland. He is survived by: his wife Elaine Morgan Gilland; his children, Ken Gilland (Elizabeth) of Cary and Angela Porter (Ken) of Hyattsville, MD; his brother Rev. J. C. "Jim" Gilland (Glener) of Salisbury; his sister-in-law Wanda Gilland of Salisbury; his grandson Jason Porter (Alise) of Cornelius; and his great grandchildren, Olive, Miles and Winston Porter.
