With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jacob Parrott Jr. of Halifax, North Carolina, who passed away on April 21, 2024 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jacob Parrott Jr. to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Jacob Reid Parrott, Sr. and Nola Benton Parrott; his wife Margaret Allen Parrott; and his sister-in-law Cotten Skinner Parrott. He is survived by : his sons, Jacob Reid Parrott, III (Parker Davis) of Raleigh, NC and Benjamin Allen Parrott of Greenville, NC.; his grandchildren, Benjamin Allen Parrott, Jr. and Dorsey Elizabeth Parrott of Greenville, NC; and his brothers, Donald Benton Parrott (Cathy) of Gastonia, NC and James Hubert Parrott (Susan) of Morehead City, NC. He is also survived by numerous cousins and lifelong friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home (1130 N Winstead Ave, Rocky Mount, NC 27804). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (100 S Church St, Rocky Mount, NC 27804).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Reid Parrott Scholarship in care of Nash Community College Foundation, 522 N. Old Carriage Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
