She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hines and Maomi Hines; her husband Cleveland C. Barnes; and her siblings, Milton Hines, Mildred Hines and Margie Barnes.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Barnes, Angela Hunt (John), Belinda Barnes, Michelle Barnes, Sophia Barnes and Cynthia Boxberger (Kevin); and her siblings, Mae Freeman (Matt), Louise Carter, Mitchell Hines (Gwen), Marshall Hines, Marvin Hines (Deborah Anne) and Laverne Horne. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Cherry Chapel Baptist Church (102 U. S. Hwy 301 N, Elm City, NC 27822). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Rocky Mount Memorial Park (4454 Dortches Blvd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804).
