She was predeceased by : her parents, James Calvin Mathews, Sr. and Jerrouldine Lavell McMellon Mathews; her siblings, Sharon Ann Long and Jerroul Wade Cavanaugh; and her granddaughter Kyla Loomis.

She is survived by : her siblings, James Calvin Mathews, Jr. and Jackie Snyder (David Fredric Smith, Sr.); and her children, Marla Hayes (Steve), Beth Cammilleri (Frank), David Smith, Jr., Jenny Smith and Crystal Nichols.
