He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thomas Jr. and Ruby Jones. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Lawary Thomas; his children, Kierra Tucker of Danville, VA, Steve Simpson (Erica) and Rodney Simpson (Camaya) of Ruffin, NC; his stepfather Larry Jones; his siblings, Joann Thomas, Teresa Parks (Reginald), Twann Smart (Michael) and Jermain James; and his sisters-in-law, Lois Weatherford of Greensboro, NC, Betty Pickard (Larry) of Ruffin, NC, Loretta McKeever (Charles) of Philadelphia and Pandora Lawary of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, May 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home (721 E Morehead St, Reidsville, NC 27320). Visitation will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church (6038 Park Springs Rd, Pelham, NC 27311). A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
