He is survived by : his wife Teresa Steppe; his children, Kristina Steppe Smith (Thomas) of Forest City and Billy Steppe (Hannah) of Rutherfordton; his sister Malia Steppe Crook (Tom) of Hendersonville, NC.; and his grandchildren, William Smith, Christopher Smith, Katerina Steppe and Wilhelmina Steppe.
