We are sad to announce that on July 11, 2020, at the age of 89, Joan Goforth (Rutherfordton, North Carolina) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joan Goforth to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Mary Summey and Morris G. Goforth. She is survived by : her sister Mary Lou McDaniel of Morganton; her niece Kathy Hatcher (Trey); her nephews, Mac McDaniel (Janet) of Morganton, Tommy McDaniel (Judy) of Morganton and Ed McDaniel (Cindy) of Montreat, NC.; and her friend Allen Reynolds.

A private graveside service will be held at the Rutherfordton City Cemetery with her cousin, Reverend Jane Summey officiating assisted by family friend, Reverend Michael Jones.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Ridge Foundation Friendship Fund; 500 Lenoir Rd. Morganton, NC 28655 or to the charity of your choice.
