He was predeceased by : his parents, Isaiah Tobe and Betty Brock Sessoms; his wife Catherine Sessoms; his son David Sessoms; and his stepson Donnie Ray Sessoms.

He is survived by : his children, Vicky Wainright-Musgrove of Autryville, Ronnie Sessoms (Susie) of Clinton and Toby Sessoms (Kimberly) of Raeford; and his stepchildren, Mary Thompson of Salemburg, Ricky Norman Sessoms of Lumberton and Gary Wayne Sessoms of Roseboro. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
