She was predeceased by : her parents, Alton Ivey and Virginia Iona Matthews Ivey; her husband Aubrey Gilbert Norton; and her brothers, Ormond Ivey, Olin Ivey, Norwood Ivey, Campbell Ivey and Henry Ivey.

She is survived by : her son Mitchell Norton (Jo Ann) of Washington, NC; her granddaughter Olivia Cuthrell (Lewis) of Washington, NC; her great grandchildren, George Hollyday Cuthrell and OliveAnn Hollyday Cuthrell; and her siblings, Linda Holden of Atlanta, Georgia, Jeanette Benton of Smithfield, NC and Gene Ivey (Grace) of Fayetteville, NC. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, May 19th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:50 PM at the Salemburg Baptist Church (300 N Main St, Salemburg, NC 28385). A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 19th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
