Virginia Matthews Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 28, 2025, at the age of 83, Virginia Matthews (Salemburg, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Oscar Honeycutt and Angie Holland Honeycutt; her husband Lattie Earl Matthews; and her siblings, Elmon Honeycutt, Glen Honeycutt, Donnie Honeycutt, J. T. Honeycutt, Mavis Knowles and Ilene Honeycutt.
She is survived by: her children, Lattie Earl Matthews, Jr. (Heather) of Roseboro, Cindy Duber (Corey) of New Port, NC and Shelia Simmons (Bill) of Williamsburg, VA; her grandchildren, Erin Lembke (Aron), Ryan Kanniard (Ashley), Ashton Kanniard (Shane) and Luke Matthews; her great grandchild Graham Lembke; her sister Evelene Brinkley; and her siblings-in-law, Patsy Honeycutt, Peggy Matthews, Glenda Grantham (Ray) and Brewer Matthews (Linda).
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Freedom Baptist Church (2099 Tyndall Bridge Rd, Salemburg, NC 28385). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at the Matthews Family Cemetery (1047 Huntley School Rd, Roseboro, NC 28382).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Freedom Baptist Church, PO Box 338, Salemburg, NC 28385.
