“I'd known Buffy since about 1987, when I moved to DeLand. There was a group of us who hung out at Le Petiit Botanica every morning. I remember stepping into the door of her first shop, and feeling the magic she brought to the community. I still have the same pair of red rubber garden shoes I bought there. Later, she hired me and taught me how to be a barista at her new location. Buffy was a driving force to revive downtown DeLand, and restore the Athens Theatre. I'll miss you, my friend. XOX”
