It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Esther Buchanan Dawkins (Sanford, North Carolina), who passed away on December 7, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lonnie Walker Buchanan and Bessie Mae Wilson Buchanan; her husband Neal Raeford Dawkins; and her siblings, Lee Buchanan, Helen Buchanan Poe, Nellie Buchanan Thomas, Morgan Buchanan, Curtis Buchanan, Shirley Buchanan, Vivian Buchanan Thomas and Pat Buchanan Worrell.
She is survived by: her daughters, Tonya Dawkins Godfrey (William) of Sanford and Rhonda Dawkins Johnson (Kevin) of Bear Creek; her grandchildren, Lauren Black (Jacob) of Sanford, Matthew Godfrey (Melanie) of Sanford, Anna Evans (Josh) of Concord and Caleb Johnson of Charlotte; her great grandchildren, Oliver Black and Maverick Godfrey; and her sister LaVerne Buchanan Bowling of Sanford. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
