It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Wilson Hunter Jr. of Sanford, North Carolina, who passed away on February 16, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bishop J. Wilson and Nan Wattles Hunter. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Godfrey Thrower (Beck); his children, Perrin Wattles Hunter Matheis (Tim) and J. Wilson Hunter III (Alison); and his sisters, Nancy H. Sherwin and Sally H. Hopper. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
