He was predeceased by: his father Dave Godfrey Sr.; his wife Carolyn McIntyre Godfrey; his son Larry Godfrey; and his siblings, Dave Godfrey Jr., Roland Godfrey and Laura Mae Holder.
He is survived by: his daughter Sylvia Bryant (Charles) of Sanford; his stepchildren, Kay Hobson of Sanford, Richard Boyd of Mamers, NC and Dennis Boyd of Sanford, NC.; his siblings, Alvin Godfrey of Sunset Beach, NC and Betty Thomas of Sanford; and his grandchildren, Jason Parten (Manju), Wayne Godfrey (Jennifer), Brian Godfrey and Ashley Godfrey. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
