He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Henry Ellis and Ozie Woody Ellis; his siblings, Hazel Barber (Ben), Rachel Blalock (Russell), Buck Ellis (Nora Lee), Lynwood Ellis (Carolyn), Bobby Ellis (Dorothy) and Billy Ellis (Linda); and his brothers-in-law, Billy Holt and Bill Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Gracie Ellis; his children, Richard Blakeley (Julie), Julie Davis (Joel), Rachel Ellis and Rebecca Bean (Robert); his grandchildren, Ashley Yarborough, Andrew Bouwman, Trey Blakeley, Joei Richardson, Jaydyn Ellis, Brandon Caldwell Jr. and Neamiah Pearson; his great grandchild Weston Richardson; and his siblings, Shirley Thomas, Nancy Beal (Lonnie), Ruby Holt and Dink Ellis (Frances).
