He was predeceased by: his parents, William Burton Sr. and Naomi McKinney Burton; his sons, Randy and Dusty Burton; and his sister Linda Martin.

He is survived by: his sons, Robbie Burton (Christy) of Bear Creek, NC and Derrick Burton (Joanna) of Burlington, NC.; and his grandchildren, Taylor, Nicole, Shane, Raymond, Christina and Elizabeth.
