She was predeceased by: her parents, John Pinkney Smith and Ella Buff Smith; her son Julius Cook; and her siblings, John Smith, Alvin Smith, Franklin, Ace Smith, Mae Swink, Annie Maude Towery, Florence Cook, Helen Smith, Lucy Lail and Sadui Falls.
She is survived by: her children, Debbie Carter (David) of Havelock, Chris Cook (Tammy) of Casar and Glenn Cook of Casar; and her brothers, Howard Smith, Joe Smith and Reed Smith. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
