He was predeceased by : his daughter Kim Culberson; his stepson Butch Hefner; his parents, Elmer Lewis and Etta Kidd Holt, Sr.; and his brother Bobby Holt.

He is survived by : his wife Dixie Holt; his son Tim Holt of Pittsboro; his sister Anita Seawell (Roger) of Glendon; and his stepchildren, Kim Brewer, Donna Storts, Tony Hefner, David Hefner and Dean Hefner.
