With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Katherine Honbarrier Gardner of Smithfield, North Carolina, born in Wendell, North Carolina, who passed away on December 9, 2021 at the age of 84. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Honbarrier and Martha Ellen Bland Honbarrier; her husband Joseph Gene Gardner; and her siblings, Evelyn Lewis, Doris Williams, Martha Keen and William Honbarrier.
She is survived by: her children, Gene Gardner (Donna) of Fuquay, Sue Gardner Coupal of Smithfield, Keith Gardner (Rhonda) of Raleigh, Robert Gardner (Gina) of Lillington and Sheryl Gardner Perez (Tony); and her grandchildren, Michael Gardner (Marciar), Jennifer Colman (Sean), Joshua Gardner, Steven Gardner (Melissa), Joey Coupal (Jamie), Nate Gardner, Anna Gardner, Samuel Gardner, Christalyn Bohde (Mike), Joseph Gardner (Elizabeth), Christian Perez (Geena) and Courtney Perez.
